12: Walking in Wanaka

A trip to Wanaka meant a quick circuit of Mt Iron. When I first walked this route over ten years ago, there were hardly any houses - now it starts out in a new subdivision: I resolutely looked the other way to take my photos. Him Outdoors ran round the circuit twice until he caught us up, while I walked with the family.

At the top, a graphic map points to all the surrounding hills and mountains, so you can put names to all all the landmarks. You can see how fascinating this is.

Apparently the children wanted 'children time' which involved getting lost in the maze at Puzzling World, while Him Outdoors and I went to Lake Hawea for an ice cream.
