Hot Cats

Well, hello there! Good Morning all - especially America. And that's all I'm saying on the subject.

Good Morning USA

Although as I have mentioned before I am mainly working from home, I do pop into the office occasionally to catch up with people and conduct meetings - especially such as when a colleague departs on maternity leave and we all go out to lunch on her last day at The Turkish Pide House.

At the weekend I'm happy to have a bacon butty for breakfast and catch up with my Family Zoom Book Club book, while watching the cats watch the parrots in the garden.

When the Lovely Bonkers came to visit, General Philosopher took this adorable montage of photos of the kittens playing tag.

When it is so hot, I sometimes leave my walk until the evening when it begins to (fractionally) cool down as dusk falls.

Another walk around the lake with the Walking Crew; another picture of us all having coffee afterwards.

Sometimes when it gets so very hot, one needs to stretch right out to cool down.

Whoops, where's her head gone?
Found it!

F#ck Cancer (and Thank You)!

Currently I spend my days at home trying to work while being 'helped' by the kittens.

I then spend my evenings 'watching' BBL cricket with Him Outdoors.

On alternate weeks one of our Walking Crew chooses the route of our walk. This week it was the turn of The Luminosity, and she chose Lake Tuggeranong. It was a fine walk, and of course I only took photos of the food afterwards.

And then we went to mark the end of chemotherapy for General Philosopher as he embarks on the next stage of his treatment, and we offer every bit of support that we possibly can.

We celebrated this milestone in style, as you can see.

Walking, wine and curry

Calamity Sue is clearing out her parents house prior to the sale thereof. They have lived there for 42 years and obviously accumulated a lot of stuff. It has been a tough experience for her both physically and emotionally clearing. We went along for moral support and while Him Outdoors did helpful things with light fittings and fixtures, I helpfully drank bubbles with her by the light of a mobile phone.

The next day, I saw this piece of graffito on a shop wall, which seemed uncannily similar.

Deciding to reinstate date night, Him Outdoors and I went out for a very tasty curry at Bharat International.

Obligatory shot of the Walking Crew have finished our circuit of Lake Burley Griffin.

It was hot outdoors. (To be honest it is especially hot here because the thermometer is in the sun trap placed under the corrugated laserlite sheeting.)

We took our annual trip to Four Winds Winery for wine and pizza, which was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. And then people came back to ours to sit in the shade of the patio.

Welcome 2021

These beautiful little girls are looking forward to a year of scampering up and down the corridor, followed by eating until their bellies are full and curling up for a good sleep. Well, aren't we all.

New-Year's Eve walk up One Tree Hill with Him Outdoors on a glorious day.

The evening's 'celebrations' were held at The Lovely Bonkers' bounteous homestead, where Him Outdoors poses with a Burnley Bounty (that's the tomato).

And then there was beer and bubbles and cake. Last time the fabulous Emma Cake made me one of these, I had several comments asking what it looked like inside, but the I read the comments after the cake had been consumed, so I've included some images of the internal confection, so I hope you're satisfied. I certainly was!

NYE Cake!

Okay, back to business - this is the stack of books on the bedside table, so I'd best get reading again.

It's becoming a bit of joke (as in, it's funny because it's true), that every weekend I go for a walk with the walking crew (comprising The Luminosity, Purple Diva, and Design Diva) and I fail to take photos of us in action, but I always capture evidence of our post- perambulatory repasts.

And we'll finish the post as we began, with Penelope and Melantho (of the Pretty Cheeks) at their slumbers.
