It was very hot in Canberra, so we headed to the hills to escape the heat - it was considerably cooler up there, at 35 degrees. We wrote our route in the intentions book and set off.

It would have been perfect if it weren't for these wee fellows. Actually, they weren't particularly wee - they were massive, and they bit whenever you stopped for half a second. Thye're called March flies and it's only January. Do they get even worse in a couple of months? I'm not coming back to check.
