Cats and Books

Do you remember that book from childhood, My Cat Likes to Hide in Boxes? Yes, mine does too, and I think of it every time I see her climbing into the cardboard shelters.

And so to the books, starting with my current bookside bed pile, and moving on to the breakfast meeting with one of my bookclubs at Muse, which, sadly, was in its closing weekend.

Whisky, Roses, and Weirdness

This is who I share my lunch with - they're quite friendly really (when you're not a bike) although I acknowledge that they look terrifying.

The roses in the garden bloom briefly - we don't water them enough - but are beautiful while they last.

And cats, just because.

This was the first year I have ever got to Whisky Live. Tickets include food, a few talks on special malts, and lots of tastings of whisky.

Some friends had a Back to the Future party - they like the film a lot. I have seen it maybe twice, a long time ago. Some friends dressed to the theme in extreme detail (I'm not even sure what character Calamity Sue is representing). I decided just to go dressed as I used to in 1985.

More of the same

Sometimes I think my life may be all cats, trees and theatre, and honestly, I'm fine with that.

Autumn weather makes for colourful leaves and dramatic skies.

Having performed in a production of the original version of this show, Peter Holland and I went to see a newer adapted version of Gaslight at the Canberra Theatre Centre.

All of this busy activity requires a hearty dinner and bubbles with Bill Nighy.
