Rainy Weekend

A friend came to stay for the weekend, and she likes tequila, so Him Outdoors made tequila sunrises. Aren't they pretty?

Tequila Sunrises
In the morning we went to our local cafe for posh French toast with fruit. Regular readers of the blog will recognise the dish. Other breakfast options are available, as seen below.

Zucchini, spinach and feta fritters with fennel and beetroot puree

Smoky bacon with eggs, cheese and tomato relish on a brioche bun

As it rained, we did what do on rainy weekends, and finished off our latest puzzle. It's a beautiful image, and I now have an even greater respect for Monet's seemingly abstract approach to colour. There was only a little bit of swearing at the Impressionist master...

Week 23: Impressions of Wellington waterfront

On a very rare, still day, I took my camera out to take some floating reflections on the waterfront. I love the look of clouds in the water - they always remind me of impressionist paintings. I wonder what Monet would have made of Wellington harbour?

There are some curious edifices in this part of town.

There are ways to get around the waterfront...

Or you can just sit and watch the world go by.
